I have one practical exam in Art and written ones in Math, German, English, Art and one planned oral presentation in History.
But what kind of exams are yours? Like mine, to get the permission to study? Or are they like exams at the end of the school year to get the grades for the school report?

They are my last exams before I can leave compulsory schooling. After this (If I do well) I can move on to sixth form and college and then to university.

ok its easier if I explain the whole system:
first off is the compulsory school which is: primary school: 5-11 yrs old, and secondary school: 11-16 yrs old.
then you have the option of staying in secondary school for another couple of years, thats called sixth form: 16-18 yrs old.
after that you can go to college, to study a certain course that you need etc. you can go to college at any age 16+ as long as you get excepted. The longest college course is about 3 years long.
Then only after youve been to college, can you go to Uni to get better qualifications on the courses you took in college, or degrees in courses you could not do at college. Some jobs require that you have a degree from college and Uni, for example: if you want to become a teacher (ME!) then you have to do a teacher training course at University.

Thank you Rose for explaining this to me!
I never got that in school they just told us there´s college and then university and I never got the difference ( I believe our teacher doesn´t know^^)
Sounds very complicated... we have something quite similar to college called Fachhochschule (FHS or FH) where you can study subjects like performing arts or visual arts. Everything you need your hands and a better qualification for you study at FH. And then subjects like medicine, biology, languages, history of arts etc you study at university. Every subject that requires more thinking than handiwork (usually the theoretical things) are studied at uni.
I think the longest course of studies at FH is about 5 years and at the uni it depends on how you get along with the subject... I´ll have to study 5 years at FH to get my degree in stage and costume design^^
But you... how long are you going to study to become a teacher? Seems quite long to me...
And you´re all together in one sort of school till you´re 16? Not separated?
We get separated from each other after primary school at the age of 10-11 and then we´re to go to three different sorts of schools: Hauptschule for the worst students (till they´re 15/ + 5 years) Realschule for the average students (till they´re 16/ + 6 years) Gymnasium for the gifted students (till they´re 18-19/ + 9/ + 8 years) only after Gymnasium and a good Abitur exam you´re allowed to go to university or FH when you pass their qualification tests...

well we go to one school, primary school till we are eleven, then we move on to a bigger school: secondary school until we ar 16. so we only really get split up once.
Im not sure how long I'll have to study to become a teacher, it varies. lets see now, I want to be a primary school teacher so I think thats........
2yrs at sixth form. up to 3yrs at college and up to 4-5yrs at uni for teacher training. then I have to go into a temporary placement for about 1yr too.
im not exactly sure on the full details yet, i'll explore it further once school's done.

What I don´t like here in Germany: all the teachers really have to do educational science before they´re allowed to each, except the Gymnasium-teachers. They´re the only ones studying at University and they only have two semesters of educational science while the other teachers-to-be have about six. No wonder so many of our teachers have a lack of understanding for us, the students... I mean they´re really into their subjects but they simply have no idea of teaching...
